Summary

Cristiana Alves is a materials scientist with experience in (nano)materials and thin films/coatings, and advanced electron microscopy.
Expertise in development of multifunctional (nano)materials produced by physical vapour deposition methods (Magnetron Sputtering) and electrochemical process (anodization) focused on synthesis features.
Extensive knowledge in material science and engineering with emphasis in advanced characterization using electrochemical tests and (scanning) transmission electron microscopy. Experience in aberration corrected machines, both probe and image corrected for imaging and spectroscopy.
Advanced materials characterization, including: 
  • Phase composition by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron diffraction.
  • Chemical composition by XPS, EDS and EELS.
  • Morphological characterization by scanning and transmission electron microscopy.
  • Electrochemical properties by potentiodynamic curves and EIS.
  • Mechanical properties by nano-indentation, surface acoustic waves and 2D/3D profilometry.
